Jedi Jiu-Jitsu counts our blessings as we enter the new year. Recapping 2019 - we had great success in competitions over the past year and finished the year off with some well-deserved promotions. For 2020, we are poised for further growth. We are looking forward to our students earning a few big promotions coming up in the first half of 2020. Other goals for 2020 include offering more class options. We are anticipating midday classes, additional earlier kids classes and a very unique fitness yoga program for the early mornings.
We currently have several class options available seven days per week. Programs include Sports and Self-defense Jiu-Jitsu with Professor Jamie Mickle, Sheepdog Jiu-Jitsu with Professor Blake Hayes, Judo with Dr. Gorospe, and POUND! with Angie Schoenrock. Our diverse program portfolio makes a membership at Jedi Jiu-Jitsu feel like a membership at several different, unique facilities. For our kids program, we are currently implementing an additional aspect that focuses on personal growth along with Jiu-Jitsu. Our Jiu-Jitsu programs boast a lineage directly under Carlos Machado.
One of the great things about being a Carlos Machado affiliate is having access to the standardized curriculum used by other Carlos Machado Affiliates. This allows us to have specific criteria for belt promotions – not just awarding belts based on who can tap who, favoritism, time on the mats, etc. And most importantly, we do not charge for belt promotions. Our promotions are based on knowledge gained, attendance, attitude and most importantly growth and improvement. Using the Carlos Machado standards, we will also be able to provide guidelines for each degree on each belt. With the rotating curriculum, students will gain knowledge for each requirement based on attendance. So once again, the harder you work, the quicker the promotions will come. This applies to our adults and kids programs. As our student base expands, so does our need for additional classes and facility growth. We are looking closely at adding more mat space and potentially moving to a larger building at the end of 2021.
As always, we are available for questions and guidance in your martial arts journey. Our goal is not only teaching Jiu-Jitsu, but using Jiu-Jitsu as a means for self-improvement and growth. The more we help others, the more we grow. The knowledge of our all-black belt professors and staff is second to none and they continue to learn and educate themselves through affiliate training and seminars. Our doors are always open at affordable pricing and we welcome everyone who has the same culture and goals to our organization. Try us out today!
